Community Outreach Day

By

Community health educators Vurlene Notsinneh-Bowekaty and Melanie Nosie from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Health and Human Services Suicide Prevention and Intervention program spent the morning of January 8 at the Round House Café promoting Community Outreach Day.

The hour-long event featured free goodies such as pens, lens wipes, notepads and stress balls. The educators were happy to meet and speak with Community members and staff as they promoted their department’s webinars and events for the month of January.

During January, the Suicide Prevention and Intervention program invited all staff to attend their free webinars, visit them at the café to talk and get educational brochures about healthy living, and wear their favorite blue shirt on January 11 for Human Trafficking Awareness Day.
