April 16, 2024Colorado Rockies’ mascot ‘Dinger’ visits Two Waters
The Colorado Rockies’ mascot, Dinger, made a special appearance in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community on March 21, toward the end of the spring training season. The Major League Baseball regular season officially began on March 28.
Accompanied by Jim Kellogg, executive vice-president of retail and community for the Colorado Rockies, Dinger started his visit in the morning at the Round House Café, where he shook hands, posed for photos and took a turn behind the cashier’s station.
After that, Dinger headed to Two Waters Building B, where he visited the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Human Resources Department and spent time in offices on all three floors. While visiting, Dinger made sure to read the latest edition of O’odham Action News to get an inside look at the ins and outs of the SRPMIC.
Employees in Two Waters Building B took a brief moment out of their day to welcome Dinger to their departments. Many staff took selfies as Dinger happily posed for group photos and even sat at the desks of a few employees.
“Hey Dinger! Let’s take a picture,” said Levi Johnson Sr., multimedia graphic designer.
Following his tour of Two Waters, Dinger and Kellogg returned to Salt River Fields as the Rockies prepared for their March 24 spring training game against the Chicago White Sox. The Rockies won with a score of 7-2.
